Katchushi Tsuba With Hollow Rim

A large Katchushi tsuba, with a paper thin web and significant hollow rim. 9.35 cm x 9.3 cm. x 5.4 mm at the rim. Approximately 2 mm at the seppa dai, the web tapering to approximately 1 mm. Beautiful deep rich color, granular and globular tekotsu throughout. Surprisingly light weight. The dimensions of the tsuba would argue for middle / late Nambokucho (see Sasano - Silver book). This is a tsuba for the serious collector, and one worth pursuing high papers on.
